Japan Tricks Showcase

Nineteen members of Japan's active hooping community contributed original hoop moves to a charity video to help raise funds for disaster relief. The 13 minute Japan Tricks Showcase video, along with 20 individual tutorials, was released on the two-month anniversary of the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami disaster.

"I hope that hoopers around the world will enjoy our Japan style hooping so much that they donate generously to the charities we support," says Kristen McQuillin of Spin Matsuri in Tokyo.

The video project took just under a month to complete and includes tricks from well-known professional hoopers as well as delightfully enthusiastic beginners.

"Everyone in Japan has been touched by the disaster in one way or another. All of us are trying to help in our own ways - from volunteering to clean up tsunami damage to donating profits from our hoop sales. We think that reaching out to the international hooping community with this video is a good way to raise awareness and assist some worthy charity projects."
